Step One: Character Concept
Concept needs only to be a general idea — renowned socialite, musical prodigy, heroic savior — but it should be enough to spawn ever more complex ideas about the character’s motives, environment and relationships. Of course, a concept can be far more complex: “My character was a staunch defender of New York’s homeless, fighting for their rights and tending to their needs. His Embrace into the Mekhet clan frightened him into hiding among the downtrodden, who have now come to see him as a predator of the alleys.” Your character’s...

Anything purchased with experience points during a downtime is not available until the next game. It is assumed that your character spent the month learning or acquiring that item. That means that you cannot spend experience points to purchase an Attribute, Skill, Merit, Discipline, Devotion, Advantage, etc. and use what was purchased in the same downtime. For example, you cannot purchase your character's first dot of the Merit Influence: Police and then find incarcerated people during the same downtime. You could, however, perform this influence action at the next game. Nor could you purchase...

What is a downtime?

A downtime is what your character is doing in between games. It can be as simple as looking for a good place for a haven ( a home for vampires to rest during the day) or investigating some sort of info your character got during the last game.

Your downtime is broken up into several parts, the first being whatever personal actions you wish to take during the month. You have as many personal actions as you have resolve dots.

Example: Videl has 3 resolve dots. She can take 3 different personal actions that month. For her first action she helps...

CARDS
The Dark Seattle Live-Action Game replaces the dice of traditional roleplaying with a hand of 10 cards. We use a custom designed set of cards which you can acquire at the following link: https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/delux-deck. These cards are used to determine the whims of fate. Anytime a character performs an action under adverse conditions or when the outcome is unclear, his player draws a card to see if the task succeeds.

Each player should normally have his cards on them...

Membership Class (MC)
A level-based player class system, 1-5.

- Level One.
This represents a relatively new player to Dragon Quills's "Dark Seattle" Vampire LARP.

Every new player starts at level one.

Benefit: You get to play a Vampire! (Or a ghoul, if you think you are up to the challenge!) You may choose from any of 5 core covenants or 5 core clans from the Vampire: the Requiem book (A.K.A. the red book). You may also use any of the Merits, Devotions, or Rituals from the approved Clan or Covenant books.

- Level Two.
